U7’s GET NEW TRAINING GOALS

The U7’s got a great boost at training yesterday when they were presented with two pop up training goals, donated by Bright Energy And Asbestos Reports.

U7 Manager Alan Yarnton said “The squad is already making great progress in their first ever season, and we have won all of our league games so far. A big thanks to Bright Energy for their generous sponsorship of the goals, which will help make the training sessions even better and more fun”

U9 BLACKS IN THE GOALS TODAY

Wearing their smart new kit, sponsored by Dysons Heating, the U9B’s were the day’s big scorers with 3-2 and 11-0 wins against Stone Cross Royals. The U10’s also played Stone Cross and had two good wins, as did the U12B’s who put in a heroic performance with a man short to draw 2-2. Meanwhile the U9Y’s had a good weekend of it, as not only did they get a win and a draw at Premier today, but they also played Friday evening and got two wins against Seaford Town. Our new side the U12Y’s made their bow today and put up a brave performance but went down 8-0 at Black Hawks. And finally for the Juniors the U18s put in a tremendous performance to defeat a very strong Maidenbower Utd side 2-1, with goals from Nathan Thomas and Sonti Somarib.

The Mens Team won comfortably 4-0 at home to Mayfield yesterday, but our Vets Team lost 6-0 at Langney Wanderers this afternoon, but it was good to see some old friends out there pulling on a Saints shirt and proving they still can play a bit.

Something else new (old?!) at Saints - yes we have found a bunch of old blokes (well over 35s, which is old to all the kids in the Club) and formed a Veterans Team to enter a team in the local Veterans League. First match is this Sunday against Langney Wanderers, kick off 3pm at the Oval - all support welcome.

ADDITION TO GOALKEEPER ACADEMY STAFF

We are pleased to announce that from this Saturday Nick Parrett will be joining forces with Rob Shearing to bolster the Club’s Goalkeeper Academy. Rob has been doing a grand job on his own (with the support of his son Scott) over the last few months but is often only able to offer 15 minute slots. The addition of Nick should enable an even better quality of longer dedicated sessions for the more of Club’s keepers, including expanding the offering to the U15s. Nick, who is also the Club’s Vice Chairman and the only member of the Club to hold an FA Level 1 Goalkeeping qualification, has been with the Club for over 10 years and without a team of his own to coach this season is looking forward to the challenge of doing something different on Saturday mornings.

Remember to check Facebook every week for Rob’s posting of training time slots for the coming Saturday.

U7s GET THEIR FIRST KIT

Just in time for their first game of their first ever season, the all new U7sTeam yesterday took delivery of their first ever full playing kit.

They are also the first team in the Club to get it in our new style incorporating a plain black back to the shirt, which all agree looks very smart.

A huge thanks to Spartan Movers for generously sponsoring the kit, pictured is Dan Crook from Spartan taking delivery of the kit at training yesterday morning.

The kit continues to be supplied by Macron Store Hastings, who also supply all teams with black training tops - thanks for your support at this busy time of year.

Watch this space - further new kits were also supplied this weekend - more details soon.

MEN’S TEAM HELD IN LEAGUE OPENER

A new era of Men’s Team football got underway today with our first league game of the season at home to West Hill Utd of Hastings.

First half goals from George Sambrook and Tom Wilding put Saints into a 2-0 lead, but West Hill quickly pulled one back, then after dominating the second half without being able to find the killer third goal Saints agonisingly conceded with just 5 minutes to play. Final score 2-2.
